Fmpnw that is AWESOME! I will absolutely tie you another

Ken thank you, my life is very transitional right now and it just fits me It's kinda a combination of a couple lines I mixed and edited for myself out of old books, I have a habit of collection old story books, my dearest currently is one printed in 1887. When I stand in a river time loses its importance until slowly goes its existence, if it were not for the difficulty in seeing my dry fly in the evening I would never know it is time to go.

"The water you touch in a river is the last of that which has passed,
and the first of that which is coming, thus it is with time."

I have a feeling that you wrote that; did you? In any case it is excellent.
I dabbled a tad in poetry at one time; plus some college classes; and every now and then one will grab me. This is one of those times.

    Hi Jaquelyn
Just letting you know that the purple leach pattern that tied for me to catch crappies worked but not for crappies. Today at Bartlett I was doing some trolling using a 7 wt with the RIO 7 heavy sinking line. When the rod bent excessively I thought I was hung up, but no, I had something that wanted to stay on the bottom. After fighting it for about an hour, I finally got the biggest flathead catfish I have ever seen and the biggest fish I have ever caught on a flyrod. Could not get it into the boat - to big for my net. Did not have my cell phone with me either - no photo. Thanks for the fly. Sure could use another one

Are you still teaching the fly tying class at BPS? I really need to learn how to tie these dang things. The price of flies is killing me! LOL!

Hi Jaquelyn. I remember a custom product you were looking at one day when I was in your shop. I wanted to show you something a friend of mine from Michigan is making that you might like to look at. Also if you get a chance, check out my best buddies blog. I am really proud of him. (it's the fontinalis rising blog).
I know life is busy so just when you get a chance. (like you are sick with the flu or something, god forbid )

    Here is the link.

    Hi Jaquelyn,
We met on Sunday at the ISE. You tied a fly, for bass fishing, for my husband and I bought a fly tieing "desk".

I lived in Alaska for a few years (back in the mid 90s); that's where I fell in love with fly fishing. Unfortunately, I don't remember much other than that I loved it.

I'm going to be in your class starting next week. What supplies do I need to buy? For class? for practicing at home?

    Thanks!!

    Hi Jaquelyn,

That's cool you're on here too. I took a casting class a while back from you at BPS. Just wondering what the casting class schedule is like. Are they only on Saturdays?

    Thanks,

    Brandon

Hi "FlyGirl". I'm new to this site and just returning to fly fishing after nearly 15 years away from it. I lived in Alaska for a few years in the mid-90s, where I became a fly fishing fanatic. I remember almost nothing about technique. LOL Do you teach any classes?
