This Saturday-Last Lie and Tie with Bighand at AZFF

I am not sure how many of these Gary has done over the last 20 years, but it has been a lot. Gary ties some of the most beautiful small flies we have ever seen. He will be featured as the "Innovative Fly Tyer" in the upcoming issue of SW Fly Fishing Magazine. He is a joy to hang out with and a wealth of information. If you have not been able to make in the past, now is the time.

Gary will be in the shop 10-4 this Saturday 01/16, doing some tying demos and telling stories. Everyone at AZFF would like to thank Gary for all he has done for us. I will miss seeing him in the shop on a regular basis.

I'll second that. He taught Jan how to tie and she does a very good job. For this weekend (Juanuary), she tied a bunch of #24 and #26 midges. Of course, I cannot even see them without a microscope so I am not sure how I'll use them this weekend!

Jan and I always have fun with Bighands. I won't be there this Saturday, but maybe Jan will be dropping in to say hello. Imagine we'll see each other at Papago Park though, eh?

I will be there for sure. Gary is the most knowledgeable fly tier I know and my personal favorite. There is alot to look up to with this guy and it would be a shame to miss him tie. Be there or be square.

I want to personally thank you, Gary for all the hours you have spent teaching fly patterns and techniques to a lot of our customers. Your sessions are just one of the things I will miss. I can still remember when you and I started tying for Larry....been awhile, my friend. Back then it was all Lee's Ferry patterns. How things change. I'm sure I'll be seeing you at tying sessions and hopefully on the water.

I look forward the tying seeions and this seasons fishing trips. As you said the shop has been the meeting place for fly fisher's. I have had good times at the shop all these years. Enjoyed it even more at the shop sharing what I know about fly tying. Thanks Your friend Gary
