Hey guys, Fall Orvis Days are coming up and here is the event schedule for this weekend.

Food will be provided by Chef Michael of Heirloom-An American Restaurant in DC Ranch. He will be here from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday and Noon to 3:00 Sunday. He will be preparing Columbia River Salmon Tartar-Crostini.

Saturday October 10th

11:00 am- Fall Rim Fishing Our local rim expert, Jack Houck, will be doing a presentation on fishing the rim lakes. This is a great time of year to head up as the summer traffic is gone and the fishing is turning on. Come in and see where the fishing should be most productive, what flies to use, and which techniques are best.

1:00 PM- Fall Browns We travel the world on the hunt for big fish when there are some monster browns right here in our own state. Fall is the best time to hook a hog. Come see a presentation given by Fishing Manager, Cinda Howard, on where to catch your fish of a lifetime.

3:00 PM- Tying with Jim Sampson Want to learn a new technique or how to tie a certain pattern? Or maybe just watch a demo from a professional tier? Come hang around the fishing desk and let Jim show you how it’s done.

Sunday October 11th

Noon to 3:00 PM- Liberty Wildlife This is an organization that rehabilitates injured wild birds (eagles, hawks, falcons, owls, etc) and, when possible, returns them to the wild. They will be here for a few hours showing some of their birds or prey.

1:00 PM- Silver Creek, AZ This is a spring creek that is fishable fall, winter and spring and is home to some very large Apache and rainbow trout. The “catch & release” section just opened October 1st and is fishing well. Come find out everything you need to know about fishing this one of a kind stretch of water that holds two catch and release state records.

3:00 PM- Fall Hiking and Fishing Lee Lynch is a lifetime Arizona resident and an expert when it comes to hiking this state and finding out of the way fishing spots. Come see Lee give a presentation that will take you down some of the states best hiking trails to some great fishing spots. The best part is that he will lead you to places where you won't see another person for miles.

If you have any questions, you can call us at (480) 905-1400. We are located in N. Scottsdale at 7012 W. Greenway Parkway (North side of Greenway Parkway 2 blocks west of Scottsdale Rd).

See you soon!

For those that have been asking, no you do not need to reserve a spot for the presentations and yes, this is the same Michael that used to own Micheal's at the Citadel. He is an awesome chef and can't wait to try his salmon.

See you guys there!

Jim does a pretty good job of getting out of the festivities. You could learn a lot from him. ;)

See you soon!

Shlitz- I will cancel my SJ worm demo just for you.

Zach- We have a lot of ground to cover "young grasshopper". I remember my rookie year in the "fam" and I was behind that same bar. Haven't seen that bar in about ten years. This is the area where I'm a "real" professional.
