Lake Plez my biggest so far....

Had a great day today, not a whole a lot of fish but finally a big one (or at least for me). Started the day in Coles at first light and nailed three right away on a popper and saw some huge gizzard shad swimming all over, but no big Bass busting them. After that we headed into Humbug and I brought to hand a nice 4 pounder on a black Simi using a full sink depth charge line. Other than those four fish that was about the extent of it the fishing still seems to be a little slow but it sure was a nice day and I'm defiantly looking forward to getting back out. Jeff

Thanks RDF, man I was hoping for a Striper this morning. Condtions were perfect 5:30 am light breeze with a little ripple on the water and my buddies Ranger Bass boat. I did catch three dinks and had a few more misses, but it sure felt good to get past that 3 pound mark and break my curse :;; . Jeff

3,4 lbs., who cares? that is an awesome fish! I'd be happy catching that size fish anytime, anywhere. good job. what wt. rod and tippet did you use? also, hook size.

I was using my Orvis Clear Water 10ft 7wt with a Orvis 9ft 3x leader and I guess the fly was a size 6 or 8, something I got from Cinda a few months ago. That little rattling minnow I've been using latley didn't do squat for me today. Jeff

Sweet Fish ... hopefully next week I'll have some bass pics to post. I leave tomorrow for a three day canoe trip down the Devils River in South Texas ....smallies here we come!
