2X Heavy 2X Long Streamer Hook (I use TMC 5262)
Orange Kevlar Thread
Black 2 mm foam body on top
Orange 2 mm foam body on bottom
small rectangle of green 2 mm foam for an indicator
Medium black legs on back
Medium orange legs on front (or vis versa )
Tying Instructions:
Start thread at hook eye and wrap back to bend THEN forward to hook eye. I coat thread with Sally Hansen Hard as Nails.
Position Orange body and take a few wraps by neck, lift head and wrap once or twice just around shank of hook.
Lift body off hook shank and wrap thread back 1/3 of body and then wrap thread around body to secure, repeat at 2/3 and at bend of hook on tail. This makes three segments before tail. I lift tail and wrap thread around shank again.
Lay black body on top and wrap tail section.
Attach black legs also at tail section.
Lift black body and wrap thread (forms X) at each segment.
At neck wrap thread to tie down black body.
Attach orange legs AND indicator at this point.
Lift head and whip finish.
Coat entire bottom of BUT with SH Hard as Nails to adhere hook to foam body.
Let SH HN dry before using
P.S. I use the Beavertail-style foam body cutter from River road Creations, but there are a lot of cutters on the market.
