Well, if you have not been to the Juan before.....or maybe even if you have, hiring a guide is a good idea.

I am sure most of you know Paul (SJDrifli) is a guide there.

http://www.roughriderguide.net/

We hired him last year and it was awesome. Also, I have fished with Jude Duran as well and would not hesitate to recommend him:

I have heard Bighand talk about float trips with "Bear" ..... anyone got a link?

Can't find a website. Bear Goode works out of Float and Fish right down the hill from the Sportsman! Bighand may have a link or e-mail.

I kind of think they don't have a website. I have looked before but never been able to find one. Next time I am on the river I'll stop by and ask and post a link if they have one.

I am pretty sure that Float & Fish doesn't have a website - I've tried to find one a million times and never had any luck. Here is their contact information though:

FLOAT'N FISH
#4 COUNTRY ROAD 4251
NAVAJO DAM, NM 87419
505-632-5385
Email : floatnfish@acrnet.com

I really like this pattern that Bear developed - I did really well with this pattern during an early March trip to the Juan last year:

Fished with Jude last weekend and have all the respect in the world for him. I think that he and Paul really have a lot of class and will always get my recommendations.

The website got lost in internet space black hole and then the guy left town on a space ship. Ray decided word of mouth was the best way after that.

I was out on a job site the other day and had a Mayfly land on my hand, it reminded me of Roughrider guide service. Looking forward to hitting the water with Paul, in my opinon he is an excellent guide and would recomend him any day.

I had the same experience with a Mayfly, and I was going to take a shot with camera but flew away, a real close up.

Found this mayfly and a stonefly shell at the Ausable last month...
I created a little battle between the two, you should have seen the scared look on the mayfly's little face.

Hey is it still true that Paul with Roughrider Guide service gives full body rub downs after a day on the water with him?

Hey guys, just an FYI for you, I am booked solid from Wed-Sunday of Juanuary weekend. If anyone is interested in still booking a guide, Jude Duran is open that weekend. If you don't know Jude, he is probably one of the top 2-3 guides on the river. Top notch person on top of that. He also does float trips so you can't go wrong if you want to hire a guide. Thought I would let you know in case you are interested. You can contact Jude through this site or get in touch with me and I'll set it up for you. thanks, Paul

Lets do that buy-in again for a drawing for a guided trip from Jude, I sure it will be worth it.

I'm in, just need to know how much is the buy-in though....

It sounds like a good idea. If you guys can find at least 10 people willing to do it, I'd be game for a one person float/wade whichever they prefer. Also how would it work, and how did Paul do it last time? So, we have 3 people for now? Anyone else intersted?

Last year at the dinner were all pitched in whatever amount depending on people and drew the winner for a day of fishing. I sure there will be at least 20+ fly guys/gals at the dinner who will pitch in and question what is the winter rate for full day of guide services, that way we know what the break down will be.....I believe Paul give a amount on what he needed to guide..
