Sometime last year, I posted a question about how to determine water volume in the Black River and other places. Someone responded by sending me the link for the National Water Information System.
My interest is the Black River and its forks below Big Lake. On the NWIS page, I see two volume locations for the Black. One is Below the Pumping Plant and the other is near Ft. Apache.

Can't believe I haven't been on for 18 months? Maybe I can....
We went down to Costa de Cocos in Xcalak, QR, MEX for Bonefish. Saw a lot of Permit but was not lucky enough to catch one.
Made a video....that's been awhile too. Thought I would share.

I've been at this sport for about nine years now and still learning, still get stuck in the groove of not trying new things like sink tip leaders or trying different size larger flys etc. But yet I enjoy myself even though I could catch more fish if I just step out of my comfort zone.
I do occasionally try spin rod conventional gear but I feel I loose my edge or learning curve with fly fishing when I do and wish I'd taken the long rod instead. There's something about that back cast,... [Read More]
