Prescott Area Lakes
Feb 19, 2020 - 10:54 AM - by Bucksnort
I am late posting this thread. Because I am leaving tomorrow for lakes around Prescott, I need a quick response.

If you could choose one of the following lakes for pontoon boat fishing for trout, which would it be? Am I going too early?

Mingus
Lynx
Goldwater Lakes
Watson Lake
Fain Lake

Right vs Left Handed Fly Fishers
Jan 12, 2020 - 10:02 AM - by Bucksnort
Please note the political correctness in the title.

About a hundred years ago, an article titled, "Read Any Good Water Lately?" appeared in a Fly Fisherman magazine, which is where I learned about riffles, runs, flats and pools but only being the second greatest fly fisherman in the world, I still have a lot to learn. After 40 years of fly fishing, one would think I would know all about this topic.

Lee's Ferry Questions
Jan 31, 2020 - 12:30 PM - by jchar85719

I let him know that the mountain conditions on the Rim and in the White Mountains, in mid to late march are probably going to be adverse to fishing, but that Lee's Ferry might be a... [Read More]

Lee's Ferry Questions
Jan 31, 2020 - 12:19 PM - by jchar85719
I have a friend that is from AZ, buy moved to Alaska and took up fly fishing. I told him that that many of the places in AZ, at that time of year, probably would still be inaccessible, but that Lee's Ferry may be good bet.

I have never fished Lee's Ferry, so I have no clue regarding what the... [Read More]

Dry flies in the winter
Jan 30, 2020 - 6:43 PM - by Forgetful
Do you ever use dries in the winter? Especially for small creeks.

I'm wondering if I'm wasting my time, stink at fooling fish, or just have bad luck.

I have way more luck with a nymph under an indicator compared to a dry-dropper rig. I'm assuming because I can set the depth.
