Chevelon Lake
Apr 23, 2019 - 5:47 PM - by Bucksnort

The link is for a video of an angler on Chevelon Lake. He does not pack a boat.

I guess this depends on water level but it appears there are places where a back cast with a fly rod can be done easily and some wading looks good.

This angler fishes Chevelon Creek. Does the creek look like this all the way to Woods Canyon Lake?

Apr 21, 2019 - 8:40 PM - by Bucksnort
Has anyone been to the Black River in the area where it flows under Road 25?

Is it clear or off color?

Latest report indicates flow is about 490 cfs.

Went all the way to the end of the roadway, noting that all the snow/ice I saw on Tuesday was totally gone!

Walked down to the lake shore immediately adjacent to the parking area, finding a good put-in spot for my Caddis V-tube. Guess one could easily bring their tube, toon,... [Read More]

In today's Payson Roundup, highlights the joys in targeting Tiger's along the Rim.

I've been wanting to hit up that little lake since it opened, but with those savage winds each and every day has kept me close to the house. That's okay as I am nearly complete with a new paver patio / firepit and zero gravity lounge chair swing project.

Take a look at the article, then go toss some flies for holdover trout!

How's your grit in taking on Box Canyon?
Apr 12, 2019 - 6:49 AM - by david vaughn
In today's Payson Roundup, the author along with some friends made a little hike down into the rather wild Box Canyon along Christopher Creek. This jumble of rocks and water falls is not for the feint of heart in any way.

The following article illustrates the tough hiking condition, not to mention fishing condition(s), long this thin, blue line downstream of the R-C Boy Scout Ranch (Christopher Creek area).

Take a look at the article, then decide if you're up for... [Read More]
