Big Rainbow Trout Mystery Location |
Dec 09, 2019 - 7:32 PM - by Bucksnort

I have been on a quest to find big rainbows at a location close to my home in Gilbert. I finally found that place. The trout are all in the 16" to 20" range and are easy to see in crystal clear water. Access is a piece of cake. Driving time from my home is within one hour.
Anybody know where this is?
Merry Christmas to all.

When do Woods and Willow slow? |
Oct 28, 2019 - 6:55 PM - by Forgetful

I'm curious when the two most popular rim lakes slow down fishing wise? Or does it stay good through the winter as long as there isn't ice over? Latest I've fished is mid November.
I had a ridiculous day on Saturday, nothing all morning till I switched to the right fly at lunch. From then untill we left at 3:30 we landed 16 fish and had 50+ takes (wife and I were sharing a fly rod, her spinner gear was useless).

I was just looking at someone's comments about fishing Oak creek and the Verde and I got curious about the Verde up on the northern ends of it in the Sycamore canyon area. is there any fish up there and has anyone recently had anything to say about it?

West Fork Sedona report |

Nothing.
Hiked up the 3.5 miles of the "normal" trail. Didn't see any fish or really any food for them, I guess the creek truly hasn't recovered? I did see another fly fisherman heading up but didn't get the chance to talk with him.
