How's Oak Creek?
Oct 17, 2016 - 4:28 PM - by dp820
Hey guys. My wife and I are going to be staying a couple nights with some friends at Forest Houses Resort in Oak Creek Canyon next weekend. My wife agreed to let me stick a fly rod in the truck and maybe break away for an hour or two. I haven't been up there since before the Slide Fire. I was just curious if anyone could tell me how it is doing? I heard rumors that it wasn't hit as hard as everyone feared but I haven't been there to see. Hi All,

I am new to the forum as well as fishing. I have made about 6 trips to various streams up on the rim this past summer. Just learning how to fly fish and getting way to obsessed with it.

Heading up the Chevelon this weekend. Any tips on what to use. Also I hear fish get super spooked in the creek there. How do you guys go about spotting fish without spooking them. Is it best to just cast blindly?

Any tips on fishing up there this... [Read More]

Silver Creek
Oct 13, 2016 - 9:31 AM - by WminPhoenix
I am heading up to Silver Creek next week. I confess that I have never fished there, I always seen to end up fishing Big Lake out of my pontoon.
I have been tying, white crystal woolly buggers (8 & 10), the usual supply of hares ears, pheasant tails, soft hackles, parachute adams, stimis, purple haze.
Any other suggestions for patterns? Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

I hope to talk with you all soon, and I look forward to going fishing soon, too.
Lord, I do already miss my Gulf Coast redfish- a lot!
Good day... [Read More]

BKD found at Mora National Fish Hatchery.

Looks like few or no Gila trout will be stocked for the next 2 years. Please catch and release your Gila trout.
